In 2017, the Guggenheim Abu Dhabi will open its doors to all who have a passion for art. Designed by Frank Gehry, this museum will be the largest Guggenheim in the world and will showcase collections of modern and contemporary art, with a focus on art from the Middle East.

Located in the Cultural District of Saadiyat Island in Abu Dhabi, the 450,000-square-foot museum will join other leading international cultural institutions in the unprecedented development of a new, vibrant destination for visitors from around the world.

The partnership with the Guggenheim is just one of many unique cultural programs connecting Emiratis and Americans. With a vibrant gallery scene in Dubai and internationally recognized events like the Sharjah Biennial, Emirati artists are increasingly showcasing the UAE’s rich cultural heritage across the United States. Past Forward: Contemporary Art from the Emirates, a joint collaboration between the UAE and Meridian International Center, is the first major touring exhibition of Emirati art in the US and is in the midst of an 18-month national tour.
